Breaking News: Rangers’ Ridvan Yilmaz will remain despite interest from other teams.

Given the dearth of depth at his position, the Rangers will do all in their power to keep Yilmaz at Ibrox after Borna Barisic departs after his contract expires.

Sources claim that won’t likely stop Turkish teams from trying to entice the left-back to return to his native nation, though.

Despite transfer interest, Ridvan Yilmaz will remain with Rangers.

Yilmaz joined Rangers for as much as £5 million just two years ago, and he made his first team debut in the second part of last year.

After serving as Barisic’s backup since his arrival, the Croatian was given the opportunity to take the field and shine under Clement.

Yilmaz made 32 appearances in the previous campaign, contributing one assist and two goals from left back. Following their stance in January, the club was forced to change their mind about Yilmaz’s future.

Rangers put a £4 million price tag in response to interest from Italian and Galatasaray during the winter transfer window, but despite the player having talks about leaving, no deal came to fruition.

Yilmaz will be one player who keeps his starting spot despite Clement’s current plans to rebuild his team during the summer transfer window in an effort to include more of his own players.
