Ice Cube Put Caitlin Clark’s Agents On Blast For How They Handled $5 Million Offer From BIG3

In addition to her career as a professional WNBA player with the Indiana Fever, Caitlin Clark received an offer of $5 million to play a maximum of 10 games in the BIG3 basketball league. According to Ice Cube, he was never given the chance to discuss the prospect with her.

He made Clark’s representatives pay for the way they handled the transaction!

For those who are not familiar with the BIG3, it is an alternative hoops league that was founded in 2017. It is a 3-on-3 competition that often features former NBA players like Joe Johnson, Stephen Jackson, Michael Beasley and Chauncey Billups. First team to 21 wins.

Ice Cube and the BIG3 team put up an unprecedented offer for the best scorer in college basketball history in an attempt to draw more attention to the league. Clark was given a $5 million deal in exchange for eight games during the regular season and maybe two postseason games. Though it wasn’t meant to be made public until after Iowa’s championship game, the news was leaked right in the thick of March Madness.

We meant for the offer to stay under wraps while Caitlin Clark competes for the title. However, I won’t dispute what is now known: Caitlin Clark received a record offer from BIG3. Why wouldn’t we do that? A multigenerational athlete, Caitlin has the potential to excel in the BIG3.

In the end, Clark turned down the offer, which would have obliged her to play in the Big3 while taking a break from the WNBA. Her attention was and remains on the Fever.

Ice Cube isn’t entirely convinced that was her choice, though. When Udonis Haslem and Mike Miller spoke on The OGs Podcast, the league’s founder and CEO discussed how things ended with Clark. The agents of the first overall choice, in his opinion, were “hating.”

Ice Cube also clarified the terms of the agreement. With a bigger commitment, it would have really paid more than what was first stated.

We made her a two-year offer of $5 million to play. We understood that was a significant move, so even though she would have walked away with $10 (million) and some stock here and there.
