Iowa and the first overall choice in the draft has been the subject of several predictions. She appears
to have become the newest stand-in for long-standing American issues, such as race, gender, and
sexual orientation, as well as who gets to grab the spotlight and who gets neglected, along with the
other mostly Black and brown women who play in the league.
