The Texans would be foolish to trade for this San Francisco 49ers player.

One of the league’s top receiving corps is on the Houston Texans. There are presently eight candidates vying for the spot, including notable figures like Tank Dell, Nico Collins, and Stefon Diggs. One of the greatest receiving groups in football has been assembled by the team’s front office, and it appears that they will remain such for long time to come.

While Diggs is probably just for a year, Collins and Dell aren’t. In addition, the club boasts two long-term players in John Metchie and Noah Brown. And then what? Then, should the squad go out and get other players? In2022, should they attempt to add another outstanding pass-catcher?

According to Nick San Miguel of Niner Noise, wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk of the San Francisco 49ers would be a great fit for the Texans. The Texans were his second-choice as a landing site for the dissatisfied receiver. The 49ers are hesitant to provide the soon-to-be fifth-year receiver, a former first-round selection, a big contract at this time.

Therefore, unless anything changes, a trade is quite likely to occur at this time. Despite Aiyuk’s desire to play for the Texans, Houston does not currently have a compelling cause to trade for him. Whatever happens with Diggs, the squad is stacked with talent at the top and has a strong foundation for the future.

We can talk about this again if guys start to get injured or their output starts to drop, but for the time being the Texans don’t need any additional receivers who would demand the ball. They currently have three men that appear excellent. There just aren’t enough passes to go around unless the football regulations were modified to permit the usage of two quarterbacks and two footballs at once.
