DONE DEAL: Grizzlies Veteran sign 4-years contract with Houston Rockets worth $120 million
One of the NBA’s most unexpected teams of the previous campaign was the Houston Rockets.
Their finest player, Alperen Sengun, suffered a season-ending injury, but despite their inexperience,
they battled until the last few weeks of the season to secure a postseason berth.
This squad is obviously still in the running, and they think they can compete with Ime Udoka leading
them.In light of this, the Rockets are juggling a number of players and anticipate making a
significant deal at some time.
They’re now pursuing Marcus Smart, a veteran PG for the Memphis Grizzlies (via Legion Hoops),
according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.
Given that he coached Udoka for a season with the Boston Celtics and that the two teams advanced
to the NBA Finals in their first season together, Smart’s relationship with Udoka is obvious.
Despite appearing to be a perfect fit for their grit-and-grind mentality, Smart was hardly able to play
in Memphis due to a number of ailments. However, he could play a bigger part in Houston.
Although Amen Thompson has the potential to be an excellent backcourt defender and Fred
VanVleet is a capable defender, Smart would emerge as their top backcourt defender right away.
Watch Ime Udoka’s club as they get ready to make a major impact in an already exciting offseason.
The Rockets have a ton of important assets and young players to trade in a possible transaction,
including the No. 3 selection in tonight’s NBA Draft.
