BREAKING NEWS : William Contreras, Christian Yelich move on to Phase 2 of All-Star vote

The All-Star Ballot voting’s first round concluded this morning, and MLB Network revealed the results this afternoon. After placing first and second in their respective categories, two Brewers qualified for the All-Star Ballot Finals. Christian Yelich advanced in the second outfield position, and William Contreras advanced as the leadoff catcher.

They both maintained their leads and were in a strong position to move further. At the conclusion of Phase 1, William Contreras continued to hold the lead at the catcher position.

In the penultimate round, he will face Phillies standout J.T. Realmuto for the starting position. Christian Yelich had been batting second in the outfield in the meanwhile. There are six outfielders on the final ballot, including him.

Joey Ortiz was the most prominent player to miss the playoffs. The Brewers media team worked hard to get Ortiz to close the gap and finish in the top two, but he was unable to do so.

The All-Star Ballot Finals voting period begins on Sunday at 11 a.m. CT and ends on Wednesday at the same time. Voting is open to fans once day, with a daily reset at 11 p.m. ESPN will make the complete rosters available on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m.
