Jake DeBrusk thanks Bruins fans after signing with Canucks
Jake DeBrusk departed Boston earlier this week at the beginning of NHL free agency, having spent
seven seasons with the Bruins.
DeBrusk will get a fresh start in 2019 after agreeing to a seven-year contract with the Canucks that
has an average yearly worth of $5.5 million. In addition to talking about how his now-former
teammates responded to his choice, he said farewell to Bruins supporters before concluding his
departure.”Many thanks, many thanks, many thanks!” DeBrusk wrote.
“I would like to express my gratitude to everyone I have had the opportunity to meet and get to
know over the past seven years in the black and gold,” he continued. “Because of my teammates
with whom I fought and the supporters who stood with me from the beginning, there will always be
a special place in my heart for Boston!”
DeBrusk led the Bruins to the Stanley Cup Final in 2019 and the best regular season in
contemporary NHL history in 2023 during his tenure. In 2023, he had his finest statistical season
with 50 points (23 goals, 27 assists).
