ANNOUNCEMENT : Denver Broncos are sets to part ways with $46 million mega star…see why…
There’s a big difference between being a winning team and having a successful season, and for the Denver Broncos it means they’ve finally found their franchise quarterback and developed him accordingly. The Broncos aren’t expected to be very good the following season, and maybe not even the next one.
That’s OK if it also results in some success on the field.
In light of this, Bo Nix will almost certainly start at quarterback for them because Sean Payton and his coaching staff were apparently quite fond of him before to the NFL Draft.
Interestingly, it appears that he had a large following in other schools as well, despite the many conflicting opinions that were written about him over his lengthy collegiate career.
Nix, his leadership abilities, and his “alpha dog” mindset were praised by Utah coach Kyle Whittingham in a recent interview (via Zac Stevens):
Whittingham said of the dog, “He is an alpha.” Although I don’t know him well, it’s evident on the field. He has a commanding presence. He clearly has excellent command of the entire offense. Every player focuses on him, making him the center of attention.
“He is a canine alpha… He has a commanding presence. He clearly has excellent command of the entire offense. Every player focuses on him, making him the center of attention.
Nix’s physical attributes or athleticism have never caused any problems.
But his inclination to force things or prolong plays left a lot to be desired when it came to his decision-making.
While some, like the Broncos, thought he would not be a good first-round selection, others thought he had a lot of potential.
Nevertheless, considering all the experience he has previously accrued, he may be the most NFL-ready quarterback of all those joining the league this season.
They could have already discovered their person, but only time will tell.
