Kentucky freshman Travis Perry hits 59 3-pointers consecutively in practice: ‘How is that possible?’

In his first offseason in Lexington, Travis Perry, a freshman at Kentucky, is drawing attention. According to

teammate Andrew Carr, the four-star combo guard is averaging between 500 and 600 shots per practice day.

Recently, he made 59 consecutive three-pointers. The Lyon County, Kentucky, product was ranked as the top player

in the Bluegrass State and as the 81st overall basketball prospect in the class of 2024.

Carr told reporters this week that Travis Perry had done a very good job. “He’s still at 85% even though he’s taken

500–600 shots during the day when you arrive into the gym. “How is that possible?” is how I feel. All of them are 3-

pointers when I glance over. He’s at 85% right now. It’s really bizarre. He consistently made 59 from the

This offseason, Pope stated, “The thing that excites me the most about Travis is that he is a movement guy, and I am

a cutting coach.” The game is actually aiming to grow to insane heights when it comes to cutting off the ball. Trying

to protect Chris (Mullin) was so annoying. He was not incredibly fast, but he was always on the go. He was really

intelligent. He was going to be gone the moment you turned to seek assistance. Travis seems to be a fantastic mover

and cutter even when he isn’t using the ball, in my opinion. That’s only one of his many wonderful features.

This season, Kentucky plans to shoot and “make” a lot of 3-pointers under Pope. His BYU squad led the nation in 3-

pointers attempted last season at 32.0 per game.

Fairleigh Dickinson transfer Ansley Almonor stated, “[Coach Pope] wants] a lot of shots and to make sure we’re

perfecting our craft, and that’s something he emphasizes a lot.” It is essential to our strategy this year and to

defeating opponents. Both our 3-point field goal percentage and 3-point shooting percentage will be high. I have no

idea how these opponents are going to try to keep us out of the game. especially the style of play that Coach desires.

It moves really quickly. These teams will undoubtedly find it difficult to stay up with us.”
