West Ham will have an eye on Sunderland transfers and not because of Jack Clarke: View
West Ham United took an interest in Jack Clarker earlier in the window.
Since permanently joining Sunderland, 23-year-
old Clarke has been nothing short of
extraordinary. In 50 competitive games during
the 2022–2023 season, he recorded 11 goals and
14 assists, and he also showed that he was a
serious threat in front of goal the previous
season. With 15 league goals in the 2023–2024
campaign for the Wearside team, he further
demonstrated his importance in the closing third
over the previous two seasons, as his efforts
helped the team place in the top six at the end of
the previous campaign.

With two years remaining on his contract, this
summer might be the best time for Regis Le Bris’
team to sell him if they want to get the most
money for the player. The Irons, who appear to
have lost out on Jaden Philogene, may now have
a chance to make a trade for the top player of the
Black Cats. But West Ham won’t only be watching
Clarke; they’ll also probably be interested in
Pierre Ekwah’s circumstances.
West Ham inserted sell-on clause into Pierre Ekwah’s Sunderland agreement
According to the Sunderland Echo, the Irons are
entitled to 35% of the profit that the Black Cats
make on the midfielder when they decide to cash
in on him. With the Wearside club paying a
nominal fee to sign Ekwah permanently during
the early stages of 2023, West Ham could be set
to make a considerable amount of money on the
player, who has shone since his move to the
Stadium of Light. Establishing himself as a key
player despite his lack of senior experience
before joining the Black Cats, that has allowed
him to generate interest from other teams in the
past year. Premier League teams previously took
an interest in him, including Crystal Palace.
And more recently, Udinese have submitted an
offer to try and lure the player to Italy.
Fabrizio Romano believes negotiations are
currently ongoing, but there are no guarantees
that an agreement will be reached.
