According to rumors in Italy, Monaco has

informed Manchester United that in order to

recruit Youssouf Fofana this summer, they will

need to spend €35 million (£29.4 million). In

season, United is currently seeking to add a new

central midfield player to Erik ten Hag’s roster,

negotiations on Manuel Ugarte have been held

between United and Paris Saint-Germain;

the Uruguayan international for a sum of €70

had initially demanded €18m (£15m) for Fofana,

(£10m) plus add-ons would be enough to reach

an agreement. However, following enquiries

from both United and Atletico Madrid, Monaco

have decided to nearly double his asking price

to €35m (£29.4m). With just a year remaining on

his Monaco contract, Fofana, who made three

substitute appearances for France at Euro 2024,

is under contract. During the summer transfer

window, AC Milan has already lost to United

once. Prior to the Netherlands international

choosing to move to Old Trafford, AC Milan was

close to signing Zirkzee. Since then, Milan has

paid £11 million to buy Alvaro Morata from

Atletico Madrid. Matthijs de Ligt, 24, is still up

for transfer to United; however, the German

team is demanding a €50 million (£42 million)

fee.With just a year remaining on his Monaco

contract, Fofana, who made three substitute

appearances for France at Euro 2024, is under

contract. United had already defeated AC Milan

once in this.
