The recently acquired safety, Eddie Jackson, discovers many familiar faces within the Baltimore Ravens organization

The Baltimore Ravens have a tendency for making major late offseason additions, and expectations are high for Eddie Jackson, their freshly acquired veteran safety.

All-Pro safety Kyle Hamilton said on Tuesday, “We often bring in experienced players who make a big difference for us during the season.” Eddie joining us is going to be really important.

Together, Kyle Van Noy and Jadeveon Clowney, who the Ravens added in late September and August of last year, combined eighteen and a half sacks. After signing around training camp in 2021, Justin Houston played two seasons and recorded 14 sacks. Jackson, 30, is now here after playing for the Chicago Bears for seven years.

Jackson said, “It just felt like the right fit.” “I felt it was perfect for me to come in, compete, and contribute to the team’s success, aiming for a Super Bowl, knowing the team’s culture and tradition.”

Jackson was named to the All-Pro team in 2018 and appeared in the Pro Bowl both years. Along with former Ravens cornerback Marcus Peters and Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey, he is one of just three defensive backs with double-digit interceptions (15) and forced fumbles (10) since joining the league in 2017.

While at Alabama, Jackson and Humphrey were colleagues. Jackson is from South Florida, and he grew up close to Baltimore’s standout quarterback, Lamar Jackson.“We’re both Jacksons, so I almost consider him family,” Eddie Jackson quipped. “Being on the same team with him feels special. Seeing what he brings to the game and how everyone rallies around him is truly remarkable.”
