Caitlin Clark’s best friend, Kate Martin, rushes to her defense: “No one is perfect!”

After competing in the NCAA, Caitlin Clark became a symbol of women’s basketball. The expectations that were

placed on her were tremendous but unjustified because she had a collegiate career filled with records and two

runners-up places in her showcase. Star player for the Las Vegas Aces Kate Martin brought this up when she spoke

out in support of her closest buddy.

During their four years as NCAA players for the Iowa Hawkeyes, Martin and Clark developed a close friendship.

Together, they guided the team to four straight NCAA tournament appearances and two straight trips to the Final

Four, where they were forced to settle for runners-up both times.

Following her selection as the first pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, Clark has been under continual scrutiny from the

media, supporters, and other athletes. With everyone expecting her to have an instant influence on the Fever and

professional women’s basketball, the newcomer has been under a great deal of pressure.

Kate Martin hurried to protect her pal in the midst of the tempest Clark is facing. The young Aces prospect thought

there were too much expectations for the Fever guard.

Martin was quick to highlight Clark’s incredible rookie season performance in an interview with Fox5 News, adding, “Caitlin is phenomenal, and she is having a great rookie season.”

She refrained from speaking out against the pressure that her supporters and the media are putting on her, though. “She seems to be the target of a lot of criticism and expectations that she be flawless. Isn’t that unrealistic?

The young Fever star hasn’t lost focus in spite of everything. Although she had ups and downs in her early games, she gradually became the team’s main player.

Clark is averaging 16.3 points, 5.4 rebounds, 6.6 assists, and 1.5 steals a game so far this season. With a 7-11 record, the Fever is ninth overall and last in the Eastern Conference; nevertheless, Clark is putting up a strong fight for Rookie of the Year, even earning an All-Star selection for the first time.
