After Tua Tagovailoa and the Miami Dolphins extended his contract on Friday, signal-caller Jordan Love of the

Green Bay Packers is still on the market for a long-term agreement.

Dianna Russini of The Athletic reported that Love and the Packers “seemed” to be in agreement on a contract prior

to Tagovailoa. But the “structure” of Green Bay’s contract offer has been impeding the parties’ ability to come to a

mutual understanding.According to Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, Tagovailoa signed a four-year

contract extension with Miami that was for $212.4 million, with $167.1 million guaranteed.

Love and the Packers were “heading” towards a new deal and “making progress” in their contract talks, according to

an earlier report from Russini on Thursday.

The 25-year-old’s rookie deal now states that he will make $10.5 million in 2024. Until he signs a new contract, he will not be practicing in Green Bay’s training camp (h/t Matt Schneidman of The Athletic).

All indications lead to Love becoming one of the highest-paid players in the league at some time, along with his fellow quarterbacks selected in the 2020 NFL Draft. After Tagovailoa’s deal on Friday, four of the seven highest-paid players (per Spotrac) are signal-callers selected in the 2020 draft.
