The Dallas Cowboys are adding a recently cut

San Francisco 49ers player to their camp roster

after seeing another defender retire.

There are always shocks at training camp,

especially with a squad as capricious as the

Dallas Cowboys. On Sunday, it was revealed that

Dallas had let go of cornerback Gareon Conley,

who had allegedly informed the team that he

was retiring following his failed effort at an NFL

comeback. Though this was unexpected news,

the Cowboys moved swiftly to add Conley to the

roster. Kemon Hall, a fellow CB that Dallas

successfully claimed off waivers on Sunday,

immediately steps in to fill the void left by

Conley’s departure. The San Francisco 49ers cut

Hall on Saturday so they could sign wide receiver

Frank Darby, but it appears the Cowboys had

been watching the North Texas product. In

actuality, Hall will not be new to Big D. Dallas,

who signed Hall to the practice squad for the

2020 season, was one of the teams with which

Hall temporarily played in his early

career.Although he did not play for the Cowboys

in the regular season, Dallas was able to sign

fellow CB  Ultimately, in 2021, Hall made his NFL

debut with the Los Angeles Chargers, for whom

he played in 18 games throughout the 2021–2022

seasons. Hall made an impression on the practice

squad of the San Francisco 49ers after getting cut

by Los Angeles in 2023, but he’s heading

somewhere else again. With just eight stops and

one forced fumble under his belt thus far, Hall is

still a young player hoping to establish himself in

the NFL. Furthermore, it’s unlikely that a team

will continue to take a risk on a 27-year-old who

is far from a reliable contributor. That being

said, it’s noteworthy and may indicate some

unrealised potential that the 49ers, the current

NFC champions, signed Hall last year. Dallas

might be the one to finally help him realize it.
