without pads. After receiving care from trainers

for a few minutes, he was taken off the pitch in a

motorised cart without putting any weight

on his leg. Due to the departures of outside

linebacker Dante Fowler and defensive end

Dorance Armstrong in free agency throughout

the offseason, it was anticipated that the 6-foot-4,

261-pound Williams would play a larger role as

an edge rusher this season. A second-round draft

pick out of Mississippi in 2022, Williams played

in 32 regular-season games over the past two

seasons, including all 17 last year. He has 8 1/2

career sacks.
