Makurdi , Nigeria – Hon. Asugh Solomon has issued a strong warning against participating in the planned #Endbadgovernace protest scheduled for August 1st.
In a statement released today, Hon. Solomon cited the traumatic events of the 2020 #Endsars protest, where lives were lost and numerous incidents occurred, as a reason to avoid the upcoming protest. He emphasized that the risks associated with protests, including potential violence, arrests, and unpredictable outcomes, far outweigh any potential benefits.
“I cannot in good conscience encourage anyone to join the planned protest,” Hon. Solomon said. “My priority is the safety and well-being of my friends and loved ones, and I fear for their security if they were to participate.”
Hon. Solomon urged citizens to explore alternative, peaceful ways to effect change and prioritize their collective well-being.
This warning comes as tensions rise ahead of the planned protest, with many Nigerians expressing concerns about the potential consequences of participating.
