‘Means Nothing’ – Hugh Keevins issues Rangers sack claim after Clement contract surprise

Hugh Keevins claims Rangers might still fire

deal at Ibrox if Celtic win another league

championship. On August 2, the Belgian

expressed his passion for the team following the

unexpected announcement of a new contract

ahead of the upcoming campaign. Later that day,

however, journalist Keevins from the Daily

Record told Clyde 1 Superscoreboard that it

“means nothing” if Ibrox fails to succeed since

there is “no forgiveness” and “no patience” in

Glasgow. Keevins also mentioned another recent

boss who was fired despite this. “I genuinely

believe that requesting more time is a waste of

time, as I’m sure that Giovanni van Bronckhorst

loved the team and led them to a European final,

but he was fired the next season,” Keevins stated.

Glasgow does not provide you with time. People

are upset when they realise they’ve lost the

league. Many weren’t thrilled with Philippe

Clement during the previous season because of

his proximity to the league, and we all know

what transpired at Dingwall and Dundee.

“Philippe Clement lost the backing of a lot of

supporters around about that time, unfairly

because the man [is] today 10 months into the

job, but in this city there’s no patience, there’s no

forgiveness, and if Celtic go four in a row there’ll

be much unhappiness.“Philippe Clement may have an affection for the

club but that on its own means nothing.”
