Keith Jackson slammed live on air as new Dave King verdict emerges at Rangers

Peter Grant has chastised Keith Jackson for remarks he made on Dave King’s possible return to the Rangers

following John Bennett’s departure.

Although King had stated that he would be willing to take a temporary chairmanship back at Ibrox, the Light Blues

ultimately chose not to re-appoint the South African businessman [Chris Jack, 16 September].

Rangers Dave King

The Go Radio Football Show’s Grant, speaking live on September 16 at 16:45, shot down The Daily Record’s Jackson,

saying that the team should avoid King because he could start a fight in an empty house. He said, “It’s alright Keith

Jackson and all of that saying he could start a fight in an empty house. Let me tell you, if he starts a fight in an empty

house and it makes Rangers successful in their eyes and gets them back on an even keel again,

nobody will be interested.”

“They’ll all be lauding him because it is all about catching Celtic, which is going to be very, very difficult for them at any time because Celtic are so far in front on and off the pitch.”

Will Dave King return to Rangers after John Bennett’s Ibrox exit?

This whole argument is almost by the by now after the Light Blues made a final decision on King’s proposal, but Grant’s points will likely be valued by the Gers’ support.

Yes, Rangers could do without a fractured boardroom as they look to close the gap to Celtic in the league table.
However, the most important thing is finding a way to get one over their Old Firm rivals off an on the pitch.

It is important to recognize that King has success at Ibrox. It’s unclear if he could replicate the effort that made his

first stay so successful, but on paper, it does appear like a logical selection.

The team of Philippe Clement has to appoint a new CEO and chairman as soon as possible. The football team has

virtually little structure above the manager, and as long as that persists, it will be difficult to catch the Hoops.

In other Rangers news, following the match at Tannadice against Dundee United,

Clement has been instructed to make a Hamza Igamane decision.
