Heartbreaking News: J.J. Watt responds to Lions fans trying to coax him out of retirement…

CBS NFL analyst J.J. Watt, a 3-time Defensive Player of the Year, took to social media on Monday to acknowledge the slew of Lions fans begging him to come out of retirement and join Detroit.

Unfortunately for Lions fans, it doesn’t seem like the 35-year-old is in any hurry to leave his job with CBS.

“Lions fans, I see, hear & appreciate you. Love your squad, love Detroit & love Hutch,” he wrote on X. “Gutted for him. This morning, I poured a cup of coffee and took a walk by the lake with my wife & son before breakfast. I’m very much enjoying this phase of life.”

Watt spent the first 10 years of his career with the Texans, and he said in May that he would consider a return to Houston if the team “absolutely needed” him.

It doesn’t appear he has much interest in joining other teams, but the Lions are certainly attractive as a legit Super Bowl contender after their 47-9 blowout of the Cowboys in Dallas.
