The Indiana football team is having one of its best seasons in program history, and the results are starting to show in the recruiting world. Curt Cignetti has demonstrated that the Hoosiers can win big in the Big Ten, and he now wants to start recruiting some big names. Julian Lewis, a USC football commit, will be in town this weekend when Indiana plays Michigan.
Indiana hopes to climb to 10-0 on the season this weekend, while USC presently sits at 4-5. The Hoosiers might have a legitimate opportunity to flip Julian Lewis
Lewis is a five-star prospect, according to 247 Sports, and has been committed to the Trojans since August 2023. He is ranked #31 in the 2025 class, #5 at quarterback, and #6 in Georgia. Lewis is presently attending Carrollton High School in Carrollton, Georgia. Here is what 247 Sports’ Andrew Ivins said about Lewis in his scouting report:
“A de facto point guard on the gridiron that can distribute the football like few others,” according to Ivins. “His build will not wow many, but his ability to scan the field and maneuver defenses with his eyes compensates for his lack of measurables. The compact release enables him to rip tight, accurate spirals to all levels.
Although he lacks a real cannon, he can drop balls over coverage and into the deeper third. Has proven to be a skilled mover both inside and outside of the pocket, extending plays like a genuine escape artist. He chose to forego his senior season after reclassifying and moving up a year, but he has already demonstrated that he is far ahead of the curve, amassing a 25-3 record in two seasons while competing in the Peach State’s highest division. Size may be an issue for some, but uncommon intangibles make him one of the best passers in the 2025 cycle, as he consistently finds ways to move the chains. Tailored for a modern spread attack that seeks to push the pace and continuously
Lewis committed to USC almost a year ago, but as signing day approaches, it appears he is still considering his options. Many committed players make visits elsewhere, which signifies nothing, but some opt to change their commitment. It’s impossible to say what Lewis’ thinking is going into this weekend.
