Indiana quarterback five-star recruiting target Julian Lewis commits to Colorado

Five-star prospect Julian “JuJu” Lewis verbally committed to the Buffaloes and head coach Deion Sanders on Thursday. Lewis had a slim chance of joining the Hoosiers, but Indiana lost out on the big-time recruit.

Playing for Carrollton High School in Georgia, Lewis had previously committed to play for Southern California, but he kept going to other schools for recruiting visits, including Colorado, Georgia, and Indiana. He recently renounced his commitment to USC and chose the Buffaloes prior to the December 4 start of the recruits’ early signing period.
Julian Lewis discussed his dedication to Colorado and Deion Sanders during his announcement on ESPN’s Pat McAfee Show, which aired at 12:30 PM ET today.

“Of course it was big for me, just coming in after Shedeur Sanders, just seeing what he’s done to Colorado and what he’s turned it into,” Lewis stated. “It’s definitely a blessing, getting put in this position, coming after him and his dad Deion Sanders, I couldn’t beat it.”

“Coach Prime’s always said the best man’s going to play, and that’s really what I wanted — to be able to come in and compete, start as a freshman,” Lewis stated. “I want to come in somewhere where I can play because I wouldn’t enjoy sitting on the bench. He will therefore allow me to contend for that. For me, that was significant.
