CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Duke freshman guard/forward Cooper Flagg was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, as well as the ACC Rookie of the Week, as announced Monday.
ACC men’s basketball weekly honors are nominated by the respective schools and determined by a vote of an 18-member media panel.
A native of Newport, Maine, Flagg led Duke to a 69-55 road victory over No. 17 Arizona on Friday, November 22, scoring a game-high 24 points with team highs of seven rebounds and three blocked shots, along with three assists and a steal. The 6-9 freshman posted 16 points on 7-of-11 shooting from the field in the second half to hold off a Wildcats’ comeback effort.
