Thomas is rated as America’s No. 26 safety
Wednesday is Early National Signing Day and Inside the Rebels will be on location from Lexington, Miss., as four-star safety Cortez Thomas executes his instrument with Ole Miss. Thomas will hold his Signing Day ceremony at 9 a.m. CT inside the library on the campus of Holmes County (Miss.) High School.
Thomas is rated as America’s No. 26 safety, the No. 11 player in the state of Mississippi’s 2025 class and No. 272 nationally by the industry-generated 247Sports Composite index. He committed to Ole Miss on July 3, over offers from Mississippi State, Arkansas, Kentucky, Colorado, Georgia Tech, Memphis, Tulane, UNLV and others.
“I feel amazing about it,” Thomas told Inside the Rebels at the time of his commitment. “I’m in Oxford a whole lot more now. I’ve definitely built a bond with (safeties) Coach (Wes) Neighbors, (cornerbacks) Coach (Bryan) Brown and (defensive coordinator) Coach Pete (Golding). I feel pretty good about them.
“My mom loves Ole Miss. She likes how they are all about business, the football and she loves the coaches. She loves them all, Coach Neighbors, Coach Pete, Lane Kiffin. She loves everything about it.”
