JUST IN: Tottenham had already reached an agreement with AC Milan to sign a “rare” £21 million player.

During the summer transfer window, an odd transaction between Tottenham and AC Milan took place.

Despite Emerson Royal’s remarkably lackluster three years in N17,

Tottenham managed to persuade AC Milan to part with £13 million for him.

In fact, the Italian media has already given Emerson Royal harsh criticism for his erratic performance at the San Siro.

Now that they’ve released some deadwood onto the Italian powerhouses,

Tottenham is poised to cause AC Milan more trouble in 2025.

AC Milan want Johnny Cardoso – but Tottenham can block move

A story from Calciomercato now states that AC Milan want to sign Johnny Cardoso from Real Betis.

After Ismael Bennacer sustained a major injury, the Serie A team is eager to add a new midfield player to the San

Siro. Having developed a great rapport with Bennacer’s agent,

they think they have a decent chance of signing the US international.

Calciomercato, however, appears to be ignoring the reality that Tottenham has essentially

placed a preorder for the Real Betis No. 4 in advance of a 2025 move.

In case you missed it, Cardoso has been dubbed a “rare” football player. Spurs have agreed to pay £21 million to sign

him should they choose to forward with the signing.

which was negotiated as part of the £3.3m sale of Giovani Lo Celso to Real Betis.

Tottenham have basically secured first dibs on the Real Betis No.4 in case he develops into a superstar.

Therefore, even if AC Milan submit a good bid for Cardoso, Real Betis are obliged to let Spurs know about it, and give

the north Londoners the chance to decide whether they want to activate the £21m option,

or allow the 22-year-old to join another club.

Spurs relying on Mauricio Pochettino

It’s interesting to note that Mauricio Pochettino is currently in charge of the midfield player on the international

arena after the Argentine was named head coach of the US Men’s National Team.
