Calciomercato, however, appears to be ignoring the reality that Tottenham has essentially

placed a preorder for the Real Betis No. 4 in advance of a 2025 move.

In case you missed it, Cardoso has been dubbed a “rare” football player. Spurs have agreed to pay £21 million to sign

him should they choose to forward with the signing.

Tottenham have basically secured first dibs on the Real Betis No.4 in case he develops into a superstar.

Therefore, even if AC Milan submit a good bid for Cardoso, Real Betis are obliged to let Spurs know about it, and give

the north Londoners the chance to decide whether they want to activate the £21m option,

or allow the 22-year-old to join another club.
