A’ja Wilson Becomes Las Vegas Aces’ All-Time Scoring Leader

This WNBA season is breaking a lot of records, and WNBA champion A’ja Wilson broke yet more.

The 2023 WNBA Finals MVP just surpassed all previous scorers for the Las Vegas Aces in a game.

The Las Vegas Aces report that on July 7, in a 104-85 victory over the Dallas Wings, Wilson overtook

Sophia Young-Malcolm’s 4,300 career points to take the top spot on the team’s scoring history.

Wilson also grabbed 10 rebounds and scored 28 points. The win improved the team’s record to 13-7,

while the Wings’ record dropped to 5-17 after suffering yet another setback.

In addition to breaking the record, Wilson’s 10 rebounds bring her career total to 1,854, which puts

her in 31st place on the WNBA lifetime rebound chart. After pulling down 53 more rebounds to tie

Cheryl Ford for 30th place, she will climb that list. Wilson is getting closer to overtaking the 14th

spot on the WNBA leaderboard thanks to her two blocked shots (396 overall). At that position with

397 blocked shots is Tina Charles.

Wilson had her 11th double-double of the season, according to ESPN, with her 10 rebounds. Her 540

points this season are the most by any player in WNBA history over a 20-game stretch within a

season.For the second time this season, the squad earned more than 100 points, aiming to win the

championship three times in a row. A season-high 104 points was scored in a single game. Starting

on July 10, Las Vegas will travel to Seattle to play the Storm, and they will play their next three

games away from home. On July 12, when they get to Atlanta, The Dream will be up next. On July 14,

the Aces travel to the nation’s capital to play the Washington Mystics, who will be their second

opponent on their three-game road trip.
