Florida Panthers Fall Flat with Stanley Cup in the Building

The Florida Panthers looked completely unusually foolish in their first-ever Stanley Cup Final closeout game.

With a strong start, the Edmonton Oilers defeated them 8-1, forcing a rematch of Game 5 in Sunrise.

The Oilers were more suited to extend this series than the Panthers were, despite their best efforts to raise the Stanley Cup on Saturday night.

The Panthers and the Stanley Cup were forced out of their building by Connor McDavid and company as a result of Florida’s typically impassive defenses being lax.

Coach Paul Maurice stated, “It’s the first chance that we’ve had as a franchise to really feel the [past] two days — the excitement of it, the emotions of it.”

We’ll discover how to direct it. All of that is a part of the procedure.

“Every new encounter offers chances you didn’t have before. For us, this was a positive experience. Here is where we will be working for the next few days.

Did the Panthers’ minds become clouded by the anticipation and build-up leading up to Game 4 of the Cup Final?

“We need to be prepared for the fact that the Cup will be inside the building at some point,” stated captain Sasha Barkov. Furthermore, I doubt that it served as a diversion for us. Not in my opinion.

However, observing the product on ice, it appeared to be.

The Panthers were down 1-0 early in the game as they were attempting to kill a power play due to a mistake that resulted in a shorthanded Oilers rush the opposite way.

They looked out of it from there.

Matthew Tkachuk remarked, “I think it was just more; we weren’t together as much as we were in previous games and yeah, they were flying all over the ice.”
