Kentucky makes the cut for Caleb Wilson and will get an official visit

When John Calipari was still in charge, the Kentucky Wildcats were viewed as one of, if not the top school for 5-star forward Caleb Wilson.

Once the departure for Arkansas came, it seemed like any hope of landing Wilson went with Calipari to Fayetteville.

Not so fast.

On Tuesday, Wilson cut his list to 12 schools, according to On3’s Joe Tipton, and Kentucky made the cut. Also in contention are Alabama, Arkansas, Duke, North Carolina, and Tennessee, among others.

The real news is that Wilson has scheduled an official visit to Kentucky for September 13th, according to Tipton. This will follow an official visit to Alabama on September 6th.

A 6-foot-9, 205-pound forward out of Atlanta (GA), Wilson picked up an offer from Kentucky back in June of 2023, then visited Lexington in October. He’s currently ranked third nationally in the 2025 class by On3, sixth by 247 Sports, fifth by ESPN, and fourth by Rivals.

Back in May, Wilson said he wanted to hear more from Kentucky now that Mark Pope was leading the program.

“I watched BYU film, and I watched them play a good amount last year because although they weren’t talented, like five-star prospects, very athletic guys, they won,” Wilson told Zags Blog. “And they won in a tough conference.”

Sounds like Wilson got his wish if Kentucky is not only on his list but set to host him for an official visit soon enough.
