group for the Cowboys has experienced a lot of

Hendershot might be the next to go. Writer Jess

53-man roster projection on August 4. According
to Haynie’s prediction in the article, Dallas will
keep Luke Schoonmaker, John Stephens, and
Jake Ferguson as its tight end combination.

WRs we had to go shorter somewhere else, which

smaller TE in certain packages.”
Haynie thinks the tight end for the Cowboys
might stay in Dallas to serve as a practice squad
member. That, however, is not a given.
Hendershot can test the waiver wire and sign
with another team prior to the 2024 season if he
is released.
The First Two Years of Hendershot in Dallas
Hendershot made an immediate
impression after joining with the Cowboys as a
n undrafted free agent following the 2022 NFL
draft. Teams in the NFL are constantly in need of
athletic, versatile tight ends that want to win
blocks. Hendershot shown that skill right away,
forcing his way onto the lineup that season.
However, he still had receiving-focused TEs
Dalton Schultz and Ferguson in front of him.
