Dallas Cowboys: Major Offensive Contributor Has Words of Encouragement for CeeDee Lamb

In order to get ready for their first preseason

game of the 2024 NFL regular season, the Dallas

Cowboys are now in the midst of training camp.

Naturally, though, the squad’s contract disputes

with its three top players take up much of the

press around the team rather than their

preparations. Dak Prescott, the quarterback, is in

camp even though this is his last year on the

deal. Since he and the Cowboys are unable to

reach a contract extension, there is conjecture

that this may be his last season in Dallas. The

team that signs the three-time Pro Bowl

quarterback in 2025—the Cowboys or another

team—will probably offer the highest-paying

contract in NFL history. Micah Parsons, a

linebacker, is included in in camp even though

he is locked into contract negotiations with

Dallas as well. He is seeking a deal that would

make him one of the highest-paid defensive

players in the NFL. While both Prescott and

Parsons are both present and participating in

training camp, their other biggest star, wide

receiver CeeDee Lamb, is not.

Dallas Cowboys Star CeeDee Lamb Wants to Be the Among the NFL’s Highest-Paid Wide Receivers

The Minnesota Vikings named Justin Jefferson

the highest-paid wide receiver in NFL history

earlier this offseason. Lamb’s fellow first-round

pick in 2020 agreed to a four-year, $140 million

deal extension, which translates to a $35 million

average pay annually. Stephen Jones, the

Cowboys’ COO, disclosed a few weeks ago that

Lamb and Parsons share the desire to be the

highest-paid quarterbacks in the NFL without a

contract. That amount is now Jefferson’s $35

million yearly paycheck from the Vikings. Dallas

will undoubtedly find it extremely challenging to

pay Prescott, Lamb, and Parsons in full. Having

said that, Lamb makes a stronger case than

Jefferson for payment. Their statistics since

joining the NFL are listed below:

CeeDee Lamb Justin Jefferson
Receptions 395 392
Receiving Yards 5,145 5,899
Touchdowns 32 30

As one can see, the two are very close in

receptions and touchdowns, though Jefferson

does have over 700 more receiving yards than

Lamb, and that was with him missing seven

games last season. Still, Lamb believes that he

deserves to make money that will rival that of

Jefferson. And his teammates support him.

Dallas Cowboys Wide Receiver Brandin Cooks Shares Encouragement for CeeDee Lamb

The Dallas Morning News reports that Lamb

stays in close communication with fellow

Cowboys wide receiver Brandin Cooks. The

second-best wide receiver in Dallas informed

reporters: “We communicate frequently. It’s

crucial, in my opinion, to let him know that his

teammates are considering him. But also, just

having a conversation with him and seeing how

he’s doing—I know there’s a lot going on there—

without necessarily talking about football. Cooks

is not the only Cowboys player who has recently

expressed support for Lamb. Lamb is supported

in navigating his contract discussions by the

locker room, according to statements made to

reporters by Ezekiel Elliott and Prescott.
