Las Vegas Raiders could sign Marcus Mariota

The Las Vegas Raiders will have several options to address their quarterback situation next season. Last offseason, they signed Gardner Minshew to a two-year, $25 million deal. However, after being benched in favor of Aidan O’Connell last season, there is speculation that the team may part ways with the veteran quarterback.

If the Raiders decide to move on from Minshew, they might look for another veteran quarterback—either as a temporary solution or to mentor a younger player. This could push them to explore options in free agency.

According to ESPN’s NFL insider Adam Schefter, the Raiders may have interest in bringing back Marcus Mariota this offseason.

If that happens, it would mark a return to Vegas for the former No. 2 overall pick, who previously played for the team in 2020 and 2021, making 11 appearances but never starting a game.Mariota might be particularly interested in signing with the Raiders due to their recent hire of former Oregon head coach Chip Kelly as offensive coordinator.

Kelly coached Mariota for two seasons in college and may be eager for a reunion in the NFL.
