The Kentucky Wildcats entered Oxford, Mississippi, hoping to recover from a tough loss on Saturday. Unfortunately, their efforts fell short as they were defeated 98-84 by Ole Miss, marking their fourth loss in five games.
The Wildcats started the game sluggishly, falling behind by 23 points at halftime and even trailing by 29 at one point. Although they mounted a significant comeback, they could only reduce the deficit to 11 points. Despite scoring 84 points and strong individual performances, including a triple-double from Amari Williams and 24 points from Otega Oweh, Kentucky’s defense remained a major issue.
As Kentucky looks to rebound in their next game against South Carolina—who remains winless in the conference—the team faces the ongoing challenge of improving defensively. After the game, head coach Mark Pope, along with Williams and Oweh, addressed the loss in a post-game interview.
