In a tough NBA Cup game on Friday night, the Golden State Warriors defeated the Memphis Grizzlies 123-118. Draymond Green finished with 13 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists before being ejected late after two technical fouls in a 33-second period.

After a poor start, Stephen Curry finished with 13 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists. Moses Moody and Buddy Hield both scored 14 points

In a showdown between teams with deep rotations that rely largely on their reserves, Memphis’ Jaren Jackson Jr. scored 32 points.

Curry shot 4 for 9 with three 3-pointers, and he had scored 36 and 37 points in the previous two games, respectively.

Grizzlies: After the club returns home early next week, star guard Ja Morant will have imaging done on his damaged hip and pelvis. He has already started taking some shots on the court. Coach Taylor Jenkins stated, “That was under-control shooting because he has a strong desire to return to the court.”

Warriors: G With 1:58 remaining in the second quarter, Lindy Waters III, who had made his second start of the season, went down after blocking a shot. Waters’ hyperextended left knee prevented him from returning.
When Jake LaRavia struck Green in the face with 1:40 left before halftime, a foul was first called against him. However, the Warriors contested the decision, and it was reversed. Instead, LaRavia received the foul. Halfway in the fourth quarter, Golden State won another challenge.

Curry only shot once in 11 minutes of first-quarter play, getting his two points on free throws and missing a field goal until a 3-pointer 2:40 before halftime. His first three shots were missed.

Denver will be the Grizzlies’ hosts on Sunday and Tuesday.

Golden State has lost the last four games in the series overall and five of those games away from home when they head to Los Angeles to play the Clippers.
