Malik Clark, 21, was shot and died on Bruce Place at approximately 12:30 p.m. while he was making his way to his vehicle, according to investigators.
Police are investigating after a young father was gunned down outside his home Monday afternoon in Southeast D.C.
While their family struggles with the loss, Donna Clark has been providing consolation to her small daughter, Nicolette.
“It’s a tough moment for me and my family,” she said. “We’re really depressed. For me, this is a heartbreaking moment. My son was killed by gun violence.
Donna Clark says she doesn’t know why someone would target her son, and D.C. police say there is currently no obvious motivation for the shooting.
Police tell News4 that they are searching for several individuals while analyzing the shooting’s video. There have been no arrests.
Donna Clark said that when she got the call that no mother ever wants to receive, she was at work.
“My mother called to tell me that he had heard gunshots,” she claimed. “My son is lying on the ground when she rushes outside.”
Malik Clark had a son who was one year old. According to his mother, he is laid-back and amiable. He was an avid football lover, she adds.
He dreamed a great deal. He’s a driven individual,” she remarked. He cherished spending time with his siblings. He enjoyed spending time with his son. He cherished that boy.
She claims that it’s difficult to express how she feels.However, she hopes the authorities can find the person who killed her son.
She remarked, “I loved my son dearly.” “I have no idea who did that. I hope the culprit is apprehended.
For any information that results in an arrest and conviction in this case, police are offering a reward of $25,000.
