This time, unlike the week before against the Sooners, MU was unable to hold onto that lead. Gamecocks quarterback LaNorris Sellers led a touchdown drive that lasted all of 40 seconds. “(I’m d)isappointed for our guys that we couldn’t find a way to win,” MU coach Eli Drinkwitz said. “We had opportunities in the first and second half and just didn’t execute well enough when we needed to in order to win the game.”
On Saturday night, the South Carolina football program faced the Missouri Tigers in a much-anticipated top-25 game. In the closing moments, South Carolina was down, but a move by quarterback LaNorris Sellers and running back Raheim Sanders electrified Gamecocks supporters.
With less than 20 seconds remaining in the game, Missouri had a 30-27 lead against South Carolina. Sellers took the snap and shoveled a pass to Sanders, putting the Gamecocks in a second-and-four position in the red zone. Sanders broke several tackles to enter the end zone after catching the pass and spotting a gap. This provided South Carolina with the game-winning 34-30 lead.
