The Bulldogs coach gave the latest on the running back as well as several other players.
The Georgia Bulldogs are gearing up for another important road game this week when the team heads west to face Ole Miss. The Bulldogs have a few notable players dealing with injury, and on Monday head coach Kirby Smart gave updates on several of them.
Smart said that he felt good about running back Trevor Etienne (ribs) being available this week after leaving Saturday’s game early. Smart didn’t share much when asked about inside linebacker Smael Mondon (foot), running back Roderick Robinson (foot), and wide receiver Anthony Evans (hamstring), only saying that the team was hopeful to get those players back and that they were “rehabbing and working their butts off.”
“Etienne I feel good about,” Smart said. “He felt good yesterday and did some things yesterday with our guys … We’ll certainly see how he feels. The trainer feels good about him.”
Etienne left Saturday’s game in the second quarter with a rib injury and did not return. Smart chalked the injury up to a pain tolerance issue for the Florida transfer, who took 7 carries for 31 yards against his former team.
“I think the game meant a lot to him,” Smart said after the 34-20 victory. “I think it really hurt him that he couldn’t continue. He was dealing with a rib injury a little bit, and he’s fine. He just had some pain in there.”

Etienne has taken 89 carries for 453 yards and 7 touchdowns and has caught 20 passes for 130 yards in seven games this season.
Evans missed the Florida game with a hamstring injury. The receiver and punt returner has caught 9 passes for 88 yards and returned 14 punts for 118 yards this season.
Mondon suffered a foot injury in Week 4 and has not played since. In four games the senior has 17 tackles, 2 pass break-ups, and 0.5 tackles for loss.
Robinson has not played this season after sustaining a foot injury before the start of the season.
