Ohio State football fans and college football fans nationwide marveled at the production and athleticism of former five-star recruit Jeremiah Smith this season, a season culminating in 934 yards receiving on 57 receptions with ten touchdowns for coach Ryan Day’s team in Columbus.
Smith, a native of Miami Gardens, Florida, was held to just 35 yards on five receptions by arch rival Michigan’s motley crew of defensive backs on Saturday in a 13-10 loss, although Smith drew defensive pass interference flags and caught a touchdown pass from Buckeyes QB Will Howard.

“Do you value DJ Lagway?” one fan said in reference to the Florida Gators’ rising star at quarterback. Smith is a native of Winter Gardens, Florida.
“Buckeye nation is grateful for you, good luck in the playoffs,” one fan wrote with a nut shaped emoji at the end of their message. “Let’s go win that chip!!” another Ohio State fan added.
“Odd way of saying you’re entering the portal,” another fan wrote. “Come home bro,” another fan wrote with a picture of the Miami Hurricanes’ mascot Sebastian the Ibis running in the comments section. Smith did not clarify his comments after the initial post as of Monday night, leaving fans to wonder exactly what he meant.
