Losses in the NFL Draft and graduation have recently taken a toll on the Texas Longhorns. Despite a great deal of NFL Draft anticipation, they won big on Wednesday, as starting guard DJ Campbell announced his return to the 40 Acres.
In addition to playing in seven games during his freshman season, Campbell participated in and started every game during the previous two seasons, giving junior 37 starts over the previous three seasons. Throughout his career, he has primarily played right guard, and in 2025, he should continue to play that position.
He could, however, switch to the left side if the Longhorns thought it would be a better use for him with their new offensive line. With guard Hayden Connor, center Jake Majors, and tackles Kelvin Banks and Cam Williams leaving for the NFL, Campbell will be the only starter to return to the offensive line.
