Georgia football’s Mike Bobo not stepping down despite rumors

Uncertainty is spreading in Athens after Buck Belue, a former Georgia football star and current radio host, suggested that offensive coordinator Mike Bobo might step down from his role due to health concerns.

Belue stated that his information comes from sources close to the program. However, a reporter has refuted this claim, denying the validity of the information. The conflicting reports have left Bulldogs fans searching for clarity about Bobo’s future with the team.

“Despite the rumors circulating on social media, Mike Bobo has no intention of stepping down as Georgia’s offensive coordinator,” Radi Nabulsi of UGASports.com shared on X. He added that Bobo is actively working in his role at the moment.According to On3’s Pete Nakos, Mike Bobo was in Miami, Florida, on Thursday, evaluating five-star quarterback and Texas commit Dia Bell. This suggests that Bobo remains dedicated to his role with his alma mater, at least for the time being.

Bobo, who has been managing a rare autoimmune disease for years, has made Belue’s claim seem plausible to some. A former Georgia quarterback himself, Bobo played 37 games for the Bulldogs in the 1990s before later contributing as an offensive analyst for the 2022-23 national championship team.
