DURHAM — Miami interim coach Bill Courtney burned three timeouts in the first half against Duke basketball, including two in a minute of game time.
The stoppages didn’t stop the bleeding as Kon Knueppel and the third-ranked Blue Devils put on an offensive clinic, blowing away the Hurricanes in a 89-54 on Tuesday night at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Knueppel scored 18 of his career-high 25 points in a 50-point first half for the Blue Devils (15-2, 7-0 ACC), who made 16 three-pointers and had 24 assists on 33 baskets against the Hurricanes (4-13, 0-6). Khaman Maluach had 12 points and 15 rebounds to log his second straight double-double. Cooper Flagg added 13 points, seven rebounds and six assists. Mason Gillis rounded out four Blue Devils in double figures with 12 points off the bench.
