Georgia Football Depth Chart Check – Running Back

Georgia Football Running Back Depth Chart for 2025 Season

The 2024-2025 college football season concluded with Ohio State crowned national champions. While the Georgia Bulldogs ended their season with a mix of triumph and disappointment—winning the SEC title but falling short of a national title—they’re now focused on preparing for another championship run. With some familiar faces gone, new players are stepping into key roles. Here’s a look at Georgia’s running back depth chart heading into the offseason:

RB1 – Nate Frazier

Nate Frazier, a standout as a true freshman, played a pivotal role in 2024, especially during Trevor Etienne’s injury-plagued season. Now, with Etienne off to the NFL, Frazier takes over as the lead back. Last season, he rushed for 671 yards on 133 carries, scoring eight touchdowns while averaging five yards per carry. Frazier’s explosiveness and talent as a former borderline five-star recruit have fans excited for what’s to come.

RB2 – Cash Jones

Though somewhat surprising as the second option, Cash Jones has consistently proven to be reliable. Returning for another year, Jones provides depth and versatility, particularly as a receiving threat out of the backfield. He has shown he can step up when called upon, making him a valuable part of Georgia’s rotation.

RB3 – Branson Robinson OR Roderick Robinson

Both Branson and Roderick Robinson faced injuries during the 2024 season. Branson returned briefly early in the season after a 2023 knee injury but suffered another setback midway through the year. Roderick, sidelined by turf toe, played in just one game—the regular season finale. If healthy, these experienced players could significantly bolster Georgia’s backfield.

RB4 – Chauncey Bowens OR Dwight Phillips

Chauncey Bowens, a true freshman in 2024, logged 16 carries for 58 yards despite limited opportunities behind a crowded depth chart. Dwight Phillips, known for his elite speed, scored a touchdown against Florida and offers mismatch potential in the passing game. Both players could see more opportunities, especially if injuries arise.

RB5 – Dillon Bell

Wide receiver Dillon Bell returns for the 2025 season with his unique versatility. Bell played running back during Georgia’s injury struggles in 2023 and excelled in the role. While his primary focus will remain on leading the receiving corps, Bell could step in at running back when needed.

Freshman Addition

  • Bo Walker: A Georgia native and Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School standout, Walker adds depth and potential to the running back room as a freshman.

As always, Georgia’s depth at running back remains a strength, but injuries and competition will shape the rotation as the season approaches.
