Florida State’s 2026 recruiting class is shaping up to be one of the best in the nation, bolstered by several long-standing commitments. Among them is four-star defensive back Darryl ‘Tre’ Bell III, who has been committed to the Seminoles since October 2023.
However, Bell III recently announced on social media that his recruitment remains open, and he has started attracting attention from other programs. On Wednesday, the Georgia Bulldogs, led by head coach Kirby Smart, offered Bell III a scholarship. Notably, Georgia has yet to secure a safety for its 2026 recruiting class.
Darryl ‘Tre’ Bell III had an impressive junior season, showcasing his versatility and playmaking ability. He recorded 51 tackles, six tackles for loss, three sacks, one fumble recovery, two blocked punts, one blocked kick, and two interceptions, including one he returned for a touchdown. On offense, he contributed with two receptions for 23 yards and a touchdown.
Bell III’s standout performance came on October 5 in a 20-7 victory over American High School, where he registered eight tackles, one tackle for loss, and a 93-yard interception return for a touchdown. In a playoff matchup against Boca Raton High School on November 15, he tallied seven tackles, three tackles for loss, two sacks, and a blocked kick, despite his team falling 27-21.
A key player for Goleman High School, Bell III helped lead the team to a 6-5 record and their second consecutive postseason appearance.
Bell III is coming off a productive junior season where he totaled 51 tackles, six tackles for loss, three sacks, one fumble recovery, two blocked punts, one blocked kick, and two interceptions, one of which he returned for a touchdown. He also caught two passes for 23 yards and another score. Bell III totaled a season-best eight tackles, one tackle for loss, and an interception that he took back 93 yards for a touchdown in a 20-7 victory against American High School on October 5.
