Florida Set to Climb in Rankings After Auburn’s Victory Over Alabama

A major shakeup is expected in the AP Top 25 rankings on Monday after No. 1 Auburn dominated No. 2 Alabama in Tuscaloosa over the weekend.

Additionally, No. 5 Tennessee suffered another loss to No. 15 Kentucky, further adding to the turbulence at the top.

As a result, No. 3 Florida is positioned to be one of the biggest winners from the recent upsets.

In the latest edition of Tomorrow’s Top 25 Today, where I predict how voters may shape their ballots based on the week’s performances, I project Florida to move up to No. 2 in the upcoming rankings.

Florida is on track to reach No. 2 in the AP Top 25 poll—its highest ranking since the 2013-14 season when it spent the final four weeks at No. 1 before falling to UConn in the Final Four.

Just a week after being tied with Duke at No. 3, the Gators strengthened their case by improving to 22-3 with victories over Mississippi State and South Carolina.

These wins followed an impressive upset over then-No. 1 Auburn, marking Florida’s second win over a top-ranked opponent this season.

Meanwhile, Auburn is expected to remain at No. 1 when the updated rankings are released Monday.

Despite losing to Florida last week, the Tigers retained their top spot and, after a decisive win over rival Alabama, may regain their status as the unanimous No. While Florida and Duke are both contenders for the No. 2 ranking, Auburn’s latest statement victory could solidify its position at the top.
