Tennessee Basketball Welcomes Amorrow Morgan as New Assistant Coach
On Friday, May 2, 2025, University of Tennessee men’s basketball head coach Rick Barnes announced the hiring of Amorrow Morgan as the program’s newest assistant coach. Morgan’s coaching journey includes significant stops at Cal, Loyola-Chicago, South Alabama, and Nicholls State. At Cal, he played a pivotal role in assembling top-12 transfer classes in both 2023 and 2024, according to On3. Notably, he was instrumental in recruiting Jeremiah Wilkinson, who earned ACC Sixth Man of the Year honors and averaged 15.1 points per game during the 2024-25 season.
Before his tenure at Cal, Morgan served as an associate head coach at South Alabama, contributing to 54 victories over three seasons. During his first year at Loyola-Chicago, he helped the Ramblers achieve a 25-8 record, win the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament, and secure an NCAA Tournament berth.

Morgan, who graduated from Cordova High School in Memphis and later played at Idaho State, is eager to return to his home state.
