NCAA News Flash: Nebraska Cornhuskers December Recruiting Dates to Know…

It’s a busy month for Nebraska football. There’s recruiting classes to finish, coaches to hire, the portal to evaluate and a lot more.

Let’s take a look at some key recruiting dates to know in December.

December 2 — The evaluation period ends and the dead period begins. Teams aren’t able to have any contact in-person on or host official or unofficial visits with perspective recruits during this time,

December 4 — It’s early National Signing Day and Nebraska has an opportunity to lock down a class and will be involved in some commitment announcements as recruits will put pen to paper. Can the Huskers land Michael Terry III? Are the Huskers going to finish off a flip with Cortez Mills? Any surprises?

December 9 — The portal officially opens and it’s all the beginning of the quiet period as recruits are able to take visits. Most visitors will be portal entrants looking for a new home, but the Huskers might also come across intriguing high school recruits who don’t sign and are available to visit or get out Letter of Intent because of a bowl season coaching change. It happened last season with Keona Davis. One notable difference is Nebraska won’t have coaches on the road.

December 23 — Dead period begins again as teams won’t be able to host either prep recruits or portal/junior college recruits on campus and still not able to get out on the road. This period ends January 1.
