Kager, Kinston, Kash, and Kid are the four younger brothers of Duke basketball freshman Kon Knueppel, a former five-star recruit out of Wisconsin Lutheran High School who is presently averaging 12.2 points per game as a full-time starter in Durham. The eldest of those four, Kager Knueppel, is currently dominating as a sophomore standout for the Vikings, and they are separated by one academic year.
An inch or two taller than his sharpshooting older brother, 6-foot-8 Kager Knueppel, who played with Kon Knueppel on a Wisconsin Lutheran team that finished 30-0 last year, seems to like a little more length. He has also been shown to be a serious threat.
When Kon Knueppel was introduced at Countdown to Craziness in early October, Kager Knueppel was on Coach K Court with him.
Kager Knueppel has already received his first Division I offer, even though he hasn’t yet been listed on the few early national rankings for his class. The Toledo Rockets, who saw him shoot 3-for-4 beyond the arc and 9-for-13 from the field while scoring 23 points in last week’s 72-59 victory over De Pere High School (Wis.), are that suitor.
Prior to taking over at Toledo in 2010, Wisconsin native Tod Kowalczyk served as head coach at UW-Green Bay. Chari Nordgaard Knueppel, the mother of the Knueppel brothers, continues to hold the record for most points and rebounds at UW-Green Bay.
Kager Knueppel is shooting 62.5 percent from the field, 46.7 percent from the 3-point range, and 73.9 percent from the charity line while averaging 18.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 2.3 steals, and 1.7 blocks through Wisconsin Lutheran’s 6-0 start to the season.
On the 2027 trail, Jon Scheyer, the head coach of Duke basketball in his third year, and his staff have not yet extended any offers. They might not do so for several more months.
However, it wouldn’t be shocking if a Knueppel was on the Blue Devil wishlist for that cycle, as well as 2028, 2029, and 2030.
