Caleb Gaskins talks to latest on his loaded recruitment.
Caleb Gaskins is coming off a productive weekend at this year’s MADE Hoops Jordan Holliday Classic. The 6-foot-7, 205-pound power forward who recently transferred to Columbus High School (Fla.) showcased his versatility on both sides of the ball and utilized his size and athleticism to impact the game. Gaskins is rated as a five-star prospect in the class of 2026 and ranks No. 13 in the class.
As one of the more highly recruited prospects in the class, Gaskins tells 247Sports that he plans on taking his time during his recruitment process. Gaskins will wait to until after the high school season to really focus on the schools prioritizing him
Gaskins says he has not taken any visits or has anything locked in place. He plans to take his visits in the spring after his high school season.
At this moment, Alabama, Villanova, Auburn, LSU, and Georgia are in the process of setting visits with him. Programs such as Kansas and Duke are also showing interest.
“My recruitment is going really well right now,” Gaskins said. “I have a lot of offers right now but I’m not going to say it’s slow but I’m just not worried about that right now. I’m worried about this high school season.”
Gaskins broke down some of the schools involved in his recruitment with 247Sports.
Duke: “Everyone knows it’s a really nice program and they produce pros. They’re a really good school.”
Alabama: “They’re a really good school. I like their offense, their style, and the way they score the ball. They have a free motion offense that’s really effective.”
Auburn: “They’re really physical and I like how they like to defend and get stops. They have a good on offense too.
As of now, Gaskins will plan to really evaluate his school options during the summer and then make his decision.
“I want to go to a school that’s for me and welcomes me,”!he said. “I want to feel like home and play for a good coaching staff and environment.”
“I’d want to be in a 5-out offense but I can thrive in any offense and be a go-to player,” he added.
