However, the Eagles were without starting linebacker Nakobe Dean, who was sidelined after an injury in their wild card game against the Packers. Despite his absence, teammate Nolan Smith ensured Dean’s presence was still felt by honoring him on the field.

Nakobe Dean sustained a torn patellar tendon, ruling him out for the remainder of the playoffs.

In the Eagles’ victory over the Packers, Dean recorded six tackles, including two for a loss.

Before Sunday’s game, Nolan Smith paid tribute to his injured teammate by running out of the tunnel holding Dean’s jersey high for everyone to see.
