Alabama is in the perfect position to make the college football playoffs. With two games left in the regular season, the Crimson Tide should handle business beating Oklahoma and Auburn.
On Tuesday night, the college football playoff committee ranked the Crimson Tide seventh, the second-ranked SEC team, with Texas coming in at number three.
This season, Alabama has had some issues, losing to Vanderbilt and Tennessee, but they have done wonderful outside of the Volunteer State.
The Crimson Tide beat Georgia and LSU and made themselves a real threat to win the SEC, but one sports celebrity thinks they can do more than that and win the entire thing.
Barstool Sports owner and founder Dave Portnoy bet $100k to win $1.1 million on Alabama to win the national championship. If you’re a Crimson Tide fan, you should feel good about yourself because Portnoy won a million dollars betting on Michigan to win it all last year.
Portnoy is a Michigan alum, so that’s why he put money on them, but he has done a good job winning a lot of money in the past and even won a bunch on Scottie Scheffler winning the Masters.
Alabama still has a long way to go in winning the title, but it would be awesome to see Kalen DeBoer take the Crimson Tide all the way in his first season as the head coach.
No matter what happens with Alabama this year, they have proven that they can still be one of the best teams in the country without Nick Saban, and that will go a long way for years to come.
